Each year between 37,000-78,000 tonnes of stardust descends on earth. Xandra van der Eijk and Kirstie van Noort research the potential of this stardust as an alternative source of material, from the cosmos, now for earthly usage. Even though micrometeorites, the source of stardust, are predominantly researched in relation to our existence and place within the universe they have never been considered as an alternative raw material. As Above, So Below explores the potential of micrometeorites as the first rare earth material descended from space.
